Creating a new organisational DNA
Singapore – 26 July, 2021 – In May 2015, The Smile Division Group Pte. Ltd. (“TSD Dental Group”) was incorporated to acquire the business and assets of several dental clinics practising under the name “The Smile Division Dental Surgery” (“Previous Dental Clinics”).
TSD Dental Group is owned, controlled and managed by a new group of dental surgeons unrelated to the former management of the Previous Dental Clinics.
There were three dentists and a practice manager from the Previous Dental Clinics who were investigated for and subsequently convicted of certain offences committed prior to the acquisition by the TSD Dental Group (“Offences”). The Offences relate to the practice of these dentists at the Previous Dental Clinics and are unrelated to the practice of the TSD Dental Group.
Although the Offences are not connected to the practice of the TSD Dental Group, the TSD Dental Group does not condone these Offences. The TSD Dental Group remains committed to continuously strengthen and maintain a robust internal control system to comply with all legal requirements.
Over the six years since the acquisition of the said business and assets, TSD Dental Group has instituted new management practices and clinical standard operating procedures that aim to fully adhere to the highest professional standards expected of us.
The Management of TSD Dental Group has led the dental group through a transformation process which included conducting manpower changes, retraining team members, imparting new core values, renovating dental clinics and rebranding the dental group. The aim was to create a new organisational culture in TSD Dental Group where an improved standard of care is provided to patients.
Since the inception of TSD Dental Group, the Management regards integrity as a fundamental quality in the conduct of its clinicians and employees.
The Management emphasises that “patients expect dentists to be professional and ethical, and that is what we must be. This not only benefits patients but also creates a positive environment for our team members to work in. Everyone is confident that there is no room for unlawful activities and can be a proud member of TSD Dental Group.”
